3 Things We Learnt As Super Eagles Failed To Qualify For The 2022 World Cup In Nigeria Vs Ghana
On Tuesday, Nigeria took on Ghana in the second leg of their 2022 World Cup playoff.
The game was played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
Thomas Partey gave the Black Stars the lead, before William Troost-Ekong levelled the spot.
There were no goals in the second half, as Ghana clinched one of five Africa tickets.
What Are The Three Things We Learnt From The Nigeria Vs Ghana World Cup Game ?
1. Nigeria will miss the World Cup for the first time since 2006. The Super Eagles were at 2010, 2014 and 2018 editions. But they will not be at Qatar this year. Coincidentally, Eguavoen was in charge when we failed to make it in 2006.
2. It’s Partey time for Ghana: Make no mistakes, the Black Stars deserve to be at the World Cup this year. Over the two legs, they showed industry, urgency and intelligence to win the tie over two legs.
3. Sack Eguavoen: He has been around for a long time, but has not managed to achieve anything great. The warning signs were clearly there at the 2021 AFCON, where he was shown up by Tunisia. And this time around, Nigeria paid the price for his tactical inflexibility and poor in-game management.
